“Clipper-Herald to honor veterans”

LEXINGTON – The Lexington Clipper-Herald is asking Dawson and Gosper counties' veterans and their families for pictures and a 'memory' or two of these American heroes.

The purpose of this request is the Clipper-Herald staff is working on a publication to honor veterans of the U.S. Armed Services.

"We feel like it is a duty and an honor to give special recognition to the men and women who have served and fought so bravely for our nation," publisher Terrie Baker said. "The goal is to honor all of these brave people no matter when or if they are still serving the United States of America."

The Clipper-Herald would like to hear how military service has impacted the lives of vets and those close to them. Tell us about those moments you said you'd never forget, share the feelings of a long awaited homecoming or make us smile with a funny story. We look forward to all your contributions, but do reserve the right to edit copy.

The publication will come out as an insert in the Nov. 10 issue of the Lexington Clipper-Herald. Baker is asking that all submissions come to the Clipper-Herald office at 114 W. 5th St., no later than 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22.

"We would like to see submissions coming in as soon as possible and no later than Oct. 22 so that the staff of the Clipper-Herald has ample time to put a publication together worthy of our veterans and service men and women," Baker said. "We owe so much to them for the freedom they ensure for us and this is the least we can do."
