| Steve Penley art exhibit at museum until March 15 Posted: 21 Feb 2011 07:52 PM PST February 21, 2011 Steve Penley art exhibit at museum until March 15TIFTON — Patrons of the Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage gathered Thursday night for a patrons' party with artist Steve Penley, whose paintings are on display at the museum through March 15. Penley, who attended the University of Georgia , is known nationally for his bold, colorful portraits of American heroes, Founding Fathers and Americana scenes. Penley has collaborated with Vince Dooley, former UGA football coach, on two books: "Dooley's Playbook" and " Vince Dooley's Garden." The Museum is located at 255 Love Ave., adjacent to the Tifton-Tift County Public Library. Regular hours are Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Thursday evenings, 5 – 7 p.m., ; and Sunday afternoons, 1-3 p.m. Admission is free, and donations are welcome. Penley's Lady Liberty, above, is on display in the Tifton museum.
