| The Country Network's "American Heroes for Hire" Gains Momentum Posted: 17 Feb 2011 04:10 PM PST Press Release Source: American Heroes for Hire On Thursday February 17, 2011, 7:10 pm EST NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwire - 02/17/11) - The Country Network (TCN), just shortly after launching their new series, "American Heroes for Hire," is gaining recognition for serving a vital role in helping wounded soldiers get back into the workforce. A new veteran is showcased every week in a three and a half minute video interview, which airs weekdays at 1:00PM and 7:00PM. Warren Hansen, Founder of TCN, is a disabled veteran himself and has experienced firsthand what it takes to return to civilian life. "Today's war veterans face any number of obstacles when applying for a job. They don't have a traditional resume, although their skill sets are innumerable," remarks Hansen. "American Heroes For Hire" focuses on their experience, aptitude and determination. "These are men and women who want to work and are trained to be excellent in all they do," says Hansen. "They deserve the opportunity to be interviewed and seriously considered for employment." On February 17, 2011, one such veteran, Sean Hurst, was featured in the Florida Today newspaper. Hurst's story caught the paper's attention because of his appearance on TCN. "When an employer hears that someone has suffered a traumatic brain injury or post-traumatic stress disorder, they often disqualify that veteran applicant without learning more about them. Unfortunately, that carries a lot of stigma," says Hurst. "We don't get a lot of job opportunities." Hurst felt being on the "American Heroes for Hire" program was a great experience that he hopes will turn into job prospects. The veterans are flown to Nashville from across the country to film the segments, which are opened and closed by country music star and military veteran, Craig Morgan. Interviewer Sheilah Griggs then engages in a personal discussion with each veteran to highlight his or her military achievements and career aspirations. Hansen, who still has 2 brothers in Afghanistan, goes on to say; "This is a way for me and The Country Network to give back to the men and women in uniform who risk their lives for our safety and freedom. That's why we are doing this and we believe it will change lives." To view the video segments go to: www.AmericanHeroesForHire.com. About The Country Network Follow Yahoo!
