| St. Louis Police and United Way Partner To Pay Tribute 9/11 Victims Posted: 11 Sep 2010 08:58 PM PDT ST. LOUIS - The City of St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, partnered with the United Way of Greater St. Louis for remembering American heroes with a musical tribute featuring the newly formed Metropolitan Police Department Choir. The concert, held in remembrance of the September 11, 2001 terrorists' attacks, was held Saturday, September 11 at Kiener Plaza in downtown St. Louis. Police Chief Dan Isom, Mayor Francis Slay and Congressman Russ Carnahan addressed attendees at the event. Members of the Board of Police Commissioners and the Senior Command Staff of the department also be attended The tribute concert aimed to honor the memory of those killed in the attacks and also pay tribute to the first responders who risk their lives daily to protect and serve the citizens of the city and nation. The department's choir is one of only a few of its' kind in the country.
